I am in Hawaii right now and it is absolutely beautiful. Certainly one of the most beautiful places i've been (though so far nothing tops Italy). But... one thing that has bothered me on this stay (actually the only thing) has been the naive people i've had to listen to. I'm not sure why, but they seem to have flocked here in great numbers to celebrate christmas/new years together.
Honestly. Why would people come here just just complain about how "Elvis is the King, not Michael Jackson" (seriously, this is the shit they are talking about). Or how when the world ends in 2012 only the American citizens will be accepted into survival pods because Canadians are dumb. That one made me laugh out loud right there and then.
Seriously.
But on another note. Hawaii is AMAZING! Every night i've fallen to sleep with the sound of the crashing surf because our lodge is right beside the ocean. From the balcony we can see two other islands (Molokai and Lanai). The moon sets right in between the two of them, casting it's creepy light across the ocean towards us. What a beautiful place. Plenty of cool things to look at, shop for, and experience.
I saw Cirque Polynesia a few night ago and it was spectacular. Certainly not on the same production level of Cirque de Soleil but such a marvelous spectacle none the less. I have not seen mens hips move in such ways (yet it was just as sexy as it was odd), and the women were some of the most fit women i've seen in person. As were the men of course. The entire time I was both slightly turned on by all those guys and absolutely amazed at te extraordinary things the cast were doing. If you go to Maui you must see this show!
Well I can't ramble on and on otherwise this post will get WAY to long. So I shall leave by saying that Hawaii is amazing! I love it here. Way better than cold Saskatchewan right now.
Aloha and mahalo!
P.S.: I'll post a picture of one of the amazing sunsets I have witnessed from our lodge when I get the pictures from my new cam.
